Updated 6/12/2010 9:09 PM

Vacaville Police Activities League is currently accepting registrations for the Jr. Giants Baseball program. This free program, coached by Vacaville police officers and former professional players and others, will teach the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, and catching to youth 8-12 years of age.

The program incorporates character building and leadership principles with physical fitness and nutrition guidelines to affect the overall wellness of the participants.

Each child that participates will have a chance to attend a Giants game at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

Vacaville PAL will host an Opening Day BBQ for players and parents on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Centennial Park in Vacaville.

Vacaville PAL is also searching for positive role models to serve as coaches and team managers.

Register today and let your kids run the bases, rather than the streets, this summer! Call (707) 469-4000 or visit any Vacaville Community Center for more information. There is no cost for this program, but registration must be completed in advance.
