Vacaville Police Department press release
On Saturday, June 5, officers from the Vacaville Police Youth Services Section conducted selected enforcement in an effort to combat alcoholic beverage consumption by juveniles. Between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. officers responded to reports of juvenile parties that were disturbing the peace of others and patrolled City parks, schools, and other areas where juveniles might have been congregating. Officers responded to five reports of parties that were disturbing the peace of their neighbors and found all the events were attended by adults or were family functions.
Additionally, officers contacted between 30 and 40 other people throughout the city. Because of these contacts, two juveniles were cited for curfew violations and two citations were issued for vehicle code violations. This operation was made possible by funding from a grant that was awarded to the Vacaville Police Department by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. More proactive enforcement actions will be taking place in the future. Residents are encouraged to report suspected illegal activity to the Vacaville Police Department by calling the 24-hour non-emergency number at 449-5200.
