My name is Wayne Holland and I'm a senior at Winters High. I need my community's help with my senior project. This community has helped me with my education and has watched me grow. This is my chance to give back and leave my legacy behind. I am organizing, planning and putting on a fundraiser evet to raise money for scholarships. This is not only going to help my classmates but students in the future. The scholarships I plan to support are the Jack Delbar Memorial, the Tim Casson Memorial and the Jarred Davis Memorial.
I have chosen to support the memorial scholarships of these fine individuals because their families have worked diligently to raise money to further the education opportunities of the students of Winters. I chose my mentor John Neil, owner of Creekside Park, for many reasons. He has been there since the loss of my father, has employed me as a high school student, and has supported me in my athletics and education for many years. As my mentor, he has donated Creekside Park and his time to ensure that this event is successful. What I need from my community is your support. We are planning a day in the park to include a motorcycle/car show, BBQ, horseshoe tournament, live music and fun for the kids (jump house, dunk tank, water slide and air brush tattoos). In order for this event to be successful, I'm asking for any monetary donation of food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, chips, soda, water, desserts, etc. I would like to take this time to thank you for your time and for any donation you are able to make. It will go to a great cause and I promise my full effort to put on a great, successful event. To purchase a ticket or make a donation to the event, please contact me at 530-867-6990 or John and Karen Neil at 530-795-1060.
